Choco Stafidenios: Transforming Raisin Packaging into ToysAn Innovative Solution for Kids
Choco Stafidenios is an innovative, patented packaging for raisins covered with chocolate that can be transformed into toys. Designed by Matadog Design, this packaging offers a unique and interactive experience for children, allowing them to create their own toys without the need for scissors, glue, or other materials. With its educational and entertaining features, Choco Stafidenios is revolutionizing the way kids engage with their snacks.
The inspiration for Choco Stafidenios came from the desire to create a packaging that would not only be functional but also provide an additional value to consumers. Matadog Design wanted to offer a gift that would attract prospective buyers while staying within the production budget. By extending the usage of the packaging in an innovative way, they came up with the idea of turning it into a paper toy.
The design process was not without its challenges. The team had to explore the construction process of paper toys and find ways to eliminate the drawbacks that would make the packaging less appealing to consumers. Through extensive research and countless prototypes, they were able to create a packaging that is easily assembled, durable, and child-friendly.
Choco Stafidenios stands out from other raisin packaging in its ability to engage children and encourage creativity. Each box contains 10 different paper toys, providing endless opportunities for kids to construct and play. The packaging not only informs consumers about the health benefits of raisins but also creates a healthy habit for kids by offering a toy that can be used over and over again.
The dimensions of the Choco Stafidenios box when closed are 4.2cm x 2.5cm x 7.5cm, making it compact and easy to carry around. The project was started in November 2014 in Athens and finished in April 2015, showcasing the dedication and effort put into creating this innovative packaging.
Choco Stafidenios has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2016, a prestigious accolade that celebrates designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements.
With its unique concept and commitment to providing an interactive experience for children, Choco Stafidenios is setting a new standard for snack packaging. By turning trash into toys, this innovative design not only engages kids but also promotes sustainability and creativity.
